People living in such communities lack any awareness of how their farming activities impact on climate change, hence the need to educate students who will act as agents of change within respective communities. Our Climate Change Education Team will visit ten rural schools in the Ashanti Region to create such awareness through student durbars. We will seek the assistance of the Ghana Education Service to facilitate the successful organization of the awareness campaign.

Selection of the ten schools will be based on geographical and population considerations. Some form of radio awareness will be created through local radio stations with rural penetration to create awareness about the program. To ensure that the education campaign is sustained, we will appoint Rural Climate change reps from the schools who will act as focal persons within their communities. The combined population of these ten schools is approximately 7,000 students.

We will carry out a summative evaluation of the project via the following method;
Organize a project radio talk show 30days after the last school durbar and encourage young people from the geographical enclave of the project to call and answer simple questions on climate change and win token gift items. We will the use the feedback received to
a) assess the level of awareness created and the penetration achieved and;
b) effectively plan and implement similar future programs
