Created in 1998 to reduce traffic congestion, improve air quality, and offer commuting options along the U.S. 36 corridor, we operate today as a not-for-profit, public-private membership organization. Our coalition includes nearly fifty businesses and seven municipal governments between Westminster and Longmont.
In 2002 the organization formed a partnership with the U.S. 36 Mayors and Commissioners Coalition (MCC) to strengthen our advocacy efforts and ensure funding at the federal, state, and local levels. We also continue to work closely with RTD to expand transit service and represent private sector interests for multi-modal access along the corridor.
After several years of success advocating for transportation improvements to U.S. 36, including the passage of the RTD FasTracks initiative, the Executive Committee and staff conducted a strategic planning study in late 2006 to define the organization's future direction. In January 2007 the organization unveiled a new name, mission statement, and logo.
