Tree Musketeers
Thirteen Brownie Girl Scouts sat around the freshly planted Marcie the Marvelous Tree on May 9, 1987 dreaming up a plan to help the Earth. The third graders set out on a journey that came to be known as Tree Musketeers - a youth environmental organization. All activities are youth-led with adults serving as a support system for young decision makers.

Through hands-on projects, youth grow as competent individuals, as citizens, and as leaders while resolving local environmental issues. This year, we celebrate our 21 year operating as a “for kids, by kids” organization and Tree Musketeers’ fourth generation of youth leaders is now behind the wheel.

They are committed to continuing the tradition of empowering kids to take the environmental lead and have recently launched an ambitious tree-planting campaign to engage 3 million kids to plant 3 million trees. Tree Musketeers encourages tree-plantings by youth in front yards, parks, and schools, as well as along streets and highways around the globe.

These tree plantings will be recorded, compiled and posted to share our combined success and to call others to action. Information on this new campaign can be found by visiting: www.partnersfortheplanet.org
