MangroveWatch Ltd

MangroveWatch engages with volunteers and indigenous communities to protect and enhance estuary and shoreline vegetation, improving landscape connectivity along coastlines. This will be achieved through the implementation of an integrated program that includes both the identification of restoration hotspots and the development and implementation of site specific rehabilitation plans to protect and enhance estuarine shoreline habitat condition.

The base plan is to enhance community knowledge and skills using scientifically rigorous methods that are standardised, effective, easy to learn, rapid to apply and readily accessible.  In all instance, current technologies are to be imbraced – starting with using geo-referenced video data capture, to innovative online displays, to applied Apps for smart phones.  All this is build around the collaboration with respected scientists providing training, feedback and assistance with data assessment.
